
José Luis Avila holds a diploma in Tourism and a BA in Law from the University of Deusto, in addition to a PhD in Law from the University of the Basque Country. He is currently Lecturer in Administrative Law at the Faculty of Law. He teaches both BA and PhD courses and currently focuses on BA courses in Law, with a reduced timetable as a result of his position as Dean of the Faculty. Specifically, he teaches the following subjects: Public administrations and their activities. His publications focus mainly on town and country planning and its relationship with the environment, public contracting law and inter-administrative relations. He forms part of the Business, Market and Transational Law research team, officially recognised by the Basque Government. He has been Vice-Rector of Research and General Secretary of the University (2003-2007) and Vice-Rector of Research and Teaching Staff (2007-2009).
